Proprietary Design
The construction of the UL-U370 firewall is a proprietary design of US GreenFiber, LLC. This residential-only wall must be built according to GreenFiber’s master architectural drawings. Constructed from two walls (2x4, 16”oc staggered studs) with a one-inch gap between, the UL-U370 is built on-site, inside the unit and out of the elements.

Proprietary Protection
The UL-U370 firewall has been rigorously tested in the Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. fire protection facility’s panel furnace. After being subjected to 1900° F for two hours, the GreenFiber UL-U370 firewall, exceeds the two-hour requirement by 38 minutes.

Proprietary Installation
GreenFiber’s proprietary Fire Rated Material, FRM, is made available as an installed product from a trained and certified FRM independent contractor who has successfully completed the requisite GreenFiber training.  FRM is not an insulation product.  FRM is sprayed into a firewall cavity at high density using a specific technique to ensure proper application.  Identification is easy and instantaneous by its terracotta color.  Installers are trained to employ professional, proprietary testing equipment to ensure that FRM meets the proper density and installation requirements per Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.

Proprietary Benefits
The UL-U370 firewall is constructed on the jobsite. It must be constructed inside the building and protected from the elements. This weather-tight installation greatly reduces weather-related damage, such as moisture.

An important consideration in multi-family construction is the sound isolation characteristics of separating firewalls. Our firewall assembly is tested with a Sound Transmission Class (STC) up to 63, providing one of the quietest performing firewalls in the industry.

By the nature of its construction, using fewer materials and requiring less time to build, the UL-U370 firewall, if properly applied, meets or exceeds firewall code requirements providing significant cost savings to builders.
